The Battle of the Bastille was one of the most amazing and faitfull battle in the world. On July 14, 1789 a huge mob of people marched right for the Bastille. The huge mob marched to the Bastille for the prisoners and for the huge amounts of gun powder in the prisons storage. The prisoners of the Bastille were taken by the glorious king Louis XVI. The elements were fighting back with both groups, the rumors of the goverment and one of the biggest problems of all starvation. The Bastille has been armed and ready for weeks in anticipation of a raid of angry people. The Bastille has many defense's and was a massive building made of huge blocks of stone, the building was armed and ready to drop bombs on anyone who came to fight.
There were many large cannons that were capable of firing 24 ounce case shots at anyone who dared. But the defenders were not ready for what was coming on that glorious day. On the 7th day thirty-two swiss soldiers led by Lieutenant Deflue, came to the aid of de Launay to help form a small mob. Rumors were flying everywhere that there was supposed to be an attack but no one expected a Seige. The entire brigade was set and ready to take off and head to the Bastille to fight. The Bastille heard rumors of this "mob" coming to attack. The Bastille prepared lightly just by securing food, water, and enough ammunition to obliterate and force coming. Rumors started to spread like a wild fire, and three hundred soldiers that day left there post in fear of the mob coming.
The mob came and cut down the drawbridge and got through the wooden gates that supported the Bastille. De Lauray drug the armies of the Bastille through the streets for embarrasment. The mob flaunting through the streets cutting off heads and showing off there glorious victory.
